The Workshop on Transnational Contention is an interdisciplinary project designed to bring together graduate students and faculty at Cornell University, and major scholars from other universities to discuss various forms of transnational mobilization, their interactions with domestic social movements, and their relations to international institutions.
The workshop will meets weekly to discuss the work of scholars working in various traditions of studying transnational activism. Additionally, it facilitates the development of a database on different forms of transnational mobilization.
During this spring, the Workshop will be held on Mondays from 10:00am until noon in 498 Uris Hall. The workshop is coordinated by Professor Sidney Tarrow. Graduate students wanting to take the workshop for credit should refer to the course syllabus for additional information and requirements.
