Requirements
- Entry requirement: completion of any two History courses excluding Freshman Writing Seminars.
- Take 9 history department courses (for either 3 or 4 credits each), completing all of them with a grade of C or better.
- Of the total 9 courses:
- 4 must be outside of United States history; and
- 3 must be in history before 1800. (Courses that fulfill the Arts & Sciences historical breath requirement do not necessarily fulfill the History pre-1800 requirement.)

History majors will be required to take two seminar courses, one of which must be a 400-level seminar and one of which may be either a 200-level (200-249) or a 400-level seminar.
Starting Fall 2008, HIST 400, 401, and 402 may not be used to fulfill the 400-level seminar requirement.
