Burke Hendrix

 

Burke Hendrix (Ph.D. University of Colorado) is an Assistant Professor jointly appointed to the Department of Government and the Program on Ethics & Public Life.

His field of expertise is political theory, where his research focuses on state territory and boundaries. Related philosophical topics include theories of political obligation, property rights, military intervention, and protections for cultural minorities, especially Native Americans and Native Canadians.

Additional teaching interests include the history of political thought and the potential for global governance. He is the author of Ownership, Authority, and Self-Determination (Penn State University Press, forthcoming), and has published in Political Theory, Journal of Moral Philosophy, American Indian Quarterly, and other journals.
